System will work fine when only one registrant. But when group registrations is on, and 2 or more registratants are entered. Paypal fails with “Return to merchant and try a different payment method”. Version 3.1.31.1 WP 3.5.1 Plugins installed: Event Espresso, Event Espresso – Permissions, Event Espresso – Ticketing, Event Esoress API Plugin.
I doubled checked this on a few installations of Event Espresso and I can’t reproduce this. Typically the “Return to merchant and try a different payment method” message will appear if the PayPal account hasn’t been verified or if the credit card was declined.
I rang the customer and he was quite capable. He tried again with 2 registrants and it failed after he entered his credit card and did not get the confirm payment. We then tried just one registrant and it went through. So there was not a problem with his credit card. BTW: He did it again to complete his requirement, but all as single transactions. It seems to be with the information that is sent to Paypal.
There has been a number of attempts that have failed all with more than one registrant.
Should I have another plugin installed. I am under a bit of pressure now as it is on-line.
Did you happen to check if the PayPal account that’s being used to collect payments is verified?
We’re not seeing this happen on any other sites, but I can take a look at the registration page to see if I can find any red flags. Can you post a link to it so we can investigate?
