I just set up pay-pal express. I got my API info and it connected fine. When I set debug mode to ON it always says my API info is wrong. When I turn debug mode OFF it doesn’t give me any error with API info. How can I put it in test mode.
Secondly there reason i’m adding paypal, is my site is slow. I normally use authorize.net to handle payments, but due to the slow site I get lots of timeouts which just casues all sorts of errors and hassles.
Am I correct that by using PayPal express which happens off site this would get rid of the issues caused by my slow webiste?
The Debug mode will work only if the API info is from a sandbox account. In other words, you’ll need to remove your API info form the Event Espresso > Payments Methods settings, then add in API info from a PayPal Sandbox account (available from developer.paypal.com).
The issues with the slow site will remain even with PayPal. The way forward on getting the slow site issue resolved is have a conversation with your web host about getting an upgrade to a more robust web server.
Your website is running WordPress. That in itself does not make for a poorly coded website. If you’re wondering if the theme or some of the plugins are poorly coded, a reputable developer could do an audit of the code to see if there are problems with the code.
Generally speaking if your website is on a shared host and it’s slow, that’s a good indication that the website has outgrown its server and needs to be upgraded to a server that has more resources.
