Hi Support Team,

I’m receiving the following error when attempt to make a transaction via EventEspresso using the PayPal gateway:
“Things don’t appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later.”

Can you help remedy this?

Hi there,

We have multiple PayPal payment methods, can you let me know which specific payment method you have selected?

Or if you can link me to an event I can run a test registration on I’ll find out through that.

Hi Peter,

Yes, that’s PayPal Standard.

We deprecated PayPal standard a while ago now because of how unreliable it can be (it still shows for users that are currently using it, but it doesn’t even show within Event Espresso for new users anymore).

I’d recommend switching over to PayPal Commerce:

Event Espresso -> Payment methods -> PayPal Commerce.

Set up that payment method and test a payment through that, does it work then?
