Hello. I’m using PayPal Standard and my client wants to know if there’s a way to include additional metadata with each transaction such as the EE event id.

Hi laura,
Can you re-confirm which version of PayPal you are using? PayPal Standard has been deprecated and is the least flexible payment method from PayPal, so a newer integration may already support what you need.

Thanks Garth. I also see PayPal Express and PayPal Commerce. Should I be using either of those? I’ve updated EE to the latest version of everything.

PayPal Commerce will eventually replace PayPal express, plus Commerce has more payment options and is easier to set up.

I’m not seeing an add-on named “PayPal Commerce”. which one are you referring to? Is it listed by another name?

Hi Charles,
PayPal Commerce is a payment method included within the core code for EE5.
If you go to Event Espresso -> Payment methods.
You should see PayPal Commerce listed there.

Payment methods are user customizable so it may have been changed on your install.
