Hi there, I’m sorry if this question has been answered elsewhere. I searched and could not find it.
Used to be that my clients site had the option to Pay by Credit Card without Paypal account. That option is now gone. Is this because the client has a Paypal Standard account and not a Pro one? Do we specifically have to be using as Pro account to process credit card without logging in or is this perhaps a different issue. Site is http://www.petersed.com
It turns out you do not need to set up PayPal Pro to allow for paying with a credit card at PayPal.com.
When you go to pay at PayPal.com, and PayPal.com detects a cookie on your browser that’s from logging into a PayPal.com account, they’ll automatically not show the option to pay without an account. It’s kind of sneaky of them to do that. If clear your browser’s cookies or use a browser in “incognito” or “private browsing” mode, then go to register for an event and pay at PayPal.com, you’ll see the option to pay without an PayPal.com account, just like I did when I tested a registration on your site.
Ah thank you – the screencap clarified much for me! So I’ve changed the payment icon so that it’s not strictly a paypal symbol but includes little cc icons as well as it stops people in their tracks in confusion about how to pay with cc if they don’t have paypal and they aren’t proceeding. Thanks again – this should do it!
