Paypal and Infusionsoft integration

Hi i have got 2 gateways set up : Paypal express and Infusionsoft (with infusionsoft addon integration).

I have the products triggering the campaign whihc sends a confirmation email and adds an email. It seems when people purchase on the infusionsoft gateway they go into the campaign, but when they purchase on paypal express they don’t.

There seems to be only 1 set of the products in IS so its not going in as a different product as far as I can tell.

Would you know any other reason why this would not work the same on the 2 gateways and what I can do about it?

Hi there,

I do not know a reason why the transactions that paid with PayPal Express wouldn’t trigger the campaign. If you view those orders in Infusionsoft do they show as Paid?

They show as paid when I look at the order on the customer record. I contacted infusionsoft support and they said that the orders from paypal are not telling infusionsoft it is paid as it is hard coded so that is why it is not triggering the campaign. Is there anything we can do about that?

Can you ask them to explain what they mean by “it is hard coded”? I’m not even sure what “it” is in the context of their explanation. There’s most likely something that can be done, and they seem to know what’s wrong so specific details about what needs to be changed will be most helpful.

Hi I have gotten more information from Infusionsoft support.

They said “that due to Paypal limitations notification to app is not sent because of which purchase goal does not trigger. whereas when any credit card payment is done there is a notification which is sent to app and the goal triggers. This is the only reason Purchase goal is not getting triggered when paid through Paypal ”

When i look at a customer record though, it shows the product as purchased.

Can you suggest any way around this, if anything can be done? Its creating a lot of work to have to keep importing the orders to tag (I am currently exporting from ee and sorting then importing). I need 2 different tag goals or purchase goals based on the ticket type purchased so they get 2 different sequences.

One potential way around this would be to use a gateway like Braintree which offers the option to pay via PayPal or credit card. That said, if Infusionsoft does the same thing to Braintree that they do to PayPal then you’ll probably get the same results.

I’m still interested in learning more about what they mean by “orders from paypal are not telling infusionsoft it is paid as it is hard coded”. Do they have any further explanation about what that means?
