Hi,

We are trying to get paypal to work.
We have an event with a form that we want the button to enable people to pay for the event. We have entered the paypal info in the payment setting section on the backend, but how do we tell the button we want it to connect to paypal.

is there a setting somewhere needs to be turned on, another EE plugin we need for e-commerce side, or do we need to create a specific question group for it to work?

thanks

Hi,

Buttons from the PayPal button generator cannot be used with Event Espresso. They can be used on your site but they will not update any payment information in Event Espresso.

If you enabled PayPal through payment methods in Event Espresso, then you should see a PayPal button towards the end of registration checkout.

Register for event –> Click PayPal button –> Pay and return to your site to receive confirmation on thank you page –> Receive confirmation email.

Hi Lorenzo,

Thanks for getting back.

Please have a look at the linked images.

We have added out PayPal details into Payment settings, but the registration form itself does not react when clicked i.e does not proceed to the payment page.

What do you think?

Also, we are not trying to add a PayPal button – we thought that the Submit would automatically proceed to the payment page.

Cheers,

Hi Spencer,

Sometimes if there’s a third party JavaScript throwing an error it will prevent the validation from working and lead to the form button not submitting? Can you check with Firebug for JavaScript errors? If not, if we can get a link to the reg page we can take a look.

Hi Josh,

Two following error is occurring:

Blocked a frame with origin “http://mixnmingle.com” from accessing a frame with origin “http://static.ak.facebook.com”. The frame being accessed set “document.domain” to “facebook.com”, but the frame requesting access did not. Both must set “document.domain” to the same value to allow access.

Clearly, this is Facebook related – does this ring a bell?

Here is an event registration page: http://mixnmingle.com/event-registration?ee=4

Cheers Josh,

Spencer

Hi again,

Just to update my own tests: I disabled the Facebook sign in plugin that kicked off the error listed above. The registration form is still not working, though, in spite of the script errors also no longer occurring.

Cheers,

Spencer

Hi,

Try deactivating all plugins. Then reactivate only Event Espresso and its add-ons.

If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fourteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Hi Spencer,

You can also double check the shortcode on the main registration page. In Event Espresso 3 it needs to be [ESPRESSO_EVENTS].
