Dear team,

I found various threads on goal tracking with Google analytics, however most linked to registrations instead of successful payments.

My setup is that I include the Google analytics code in the theme (Kingsize) I’m using. It just adds it to the head of each page. This produces results – the code works and tracks visitors.

Next, I create a target in Google analytics with /thank-you as goal page.

However, this does not generate any hits – it doesn’t track anything.

Tickets are being paid for using Mollie (iDeal), Stripe and PayPal.

Do you have any idea whether my conceptual approach is wrong, or why this doesn’t work?

Thanks; best,
Luc

Hi Luc,

You sound like you are on the right track. One thing to keep in mind is that Google analytics is not instant and the reporting is delayed.

Did you use the following parameters?

“Starts with” and “/thank-you”

Also, the URL should match the slug of your thank you page so if yours is different, then you’ll want to use that instead of the default which is “thank-you.”

Dear Lorenzo,

Thank you for your quick and elaborate reply.

You directly pointed out the mistake I made. Instead of “Starts with” the parameter was set to “Equal to”. Now I do see conversion being tracked. Thanks!

Best,
Luc
