Payment Status not changing from incomplete

Hi

We are using event espresso with PAYPAL. Sometimes even though payment has apparently been made through PAYPAL. The status is still showing as Incomplete, which is the default.

We have to go in and manually set the payment status.

Are there settings in Paypal or event espresso that can affect this?

Any help would be appreciated

Hi there,

There is a PayPal setting that can affect this, which is the IPN setting, it needs to be enabled in your PayPal account. Please see this article in the documentation for more tips on how to set up the PayPal IPN:

If it is only happening sometimes, it may be a problem on paypal’s end where the ipn message isn’t being sent. You should be able to log into your paypal account and find a log of the ipn messages. Next to each one should be an option to resend the ipn message. Before manually updating the payment status, try resending the ipn message and see if that updates the payment status. That may help narrow down the problem.
