I want to modify this email so that when the customer receives it, it displays differently than it does. It doesn’t seem to be working the way I’m trying. How can I make this happen? |
|
Hi Randall, Be sure that you are editing the message type for the primary registrant and not the event admin: http://cl.ly/image/3a1n3B2S430j http://cl.ly/image/1W3A1p210O3g You’ll also need to save changes by clicking on the blue save changes button. Thanks. — |

I have changed that, and have now discovered that it sends the email I modify AND the default one. How can I solve this issue? |
|
Are you testing using a different email than that of the event author? — |
|
Yes, I am using a different email to test it with. |
|
I can’t duplicate this issue on the latest version of Event Espresso. Could you forward both of those emails to the address below: support [at] eventespresso.com — |

I forwarded the emails, and still don’t have a solution on this problem. Please advise. |

Hi Randall, I’d like to take a look at the message template if possible as we can not reproduce the default message being sent with the custom payment reminded. If so could you please send temporary login details using this form: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ I’d like to review the message template, place a test registration and use that registration to send a payment reminded. |

Hi Randall, I have re-activated your Messages to view the settings. Within Event Espresso -> Messages you can see all the messages available. In this instance we are looking at the Payment Reminder Email – http://take.ms/VbQMu Notice in the screenshot there are 2 ‘contexts’ highlighted. The Event Admin context and the Primary Registrant context. Click on ‘Primary Registrant’ to edit that context. So this is the message that would be sent to the Primary Registrant – http://take.ms/qAVXI Notice the notes within the screen shot. Now switch the context to the Event Admin context (change the dropdown and press ‘Switch Recipient’ now we are within the Event Admin context. This message is intended to be used for the Event Admin. If you notice the ‘To’ field within that section, it is using [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_EMAIL] shortcode, meaning the message intended for the Event Admin is being sent to the Primary attendee (which is why they are receiving 2) For the Event Admin context you’ll likely want to To field to be either empty, so no message is sent to (what should be) the Event Admin or use either the [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL] or [EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL] Currently what’s happening is both message contexts are being sent to the Primary Attendee email address. I have removed the [PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_EMAIL] from the ‘To’ field in Event Admin context (which disables that context), if you need to edit the Payment Reminder message sent to the Primary Registrant be sue to edit that context. Hope that helps 🙂 |

Awesome! That makes 100% sense. Thanks so much for checking into this. |
