I just checked to see if it was the re-captcha causing the problem. I deactivated Captcha and now registration works in all browsers. This site will get spammed so I need captcha to work. Please help. |
Hello, Were you seeing any errors in the console in Firefox or Google Chrome? I’m currently seeing an error related to the appointment booking plugin on the registration checkout page: Does that plugin have its own reCaptcha option built it? Could you please temporarily re-test with only Event Espresso 4 running along with any of its add-ons (if in use) and the built-in reCaptcha enabled and share feedback? — |

I deactivated plugins I am not using including the appointment booking, the old event registration plugin and a couple of old e-commerce plugins. When I activate Captcha in EE4 I still get the error: “A valid transaction could not be initiated for processing your registrations.” I also realized that it was working in Safari because I was logged into the WP admin (which disables the captcha) when I logged out and re-tried in Safari I get the same error. When I disable the Captcha in EE4 all browsers work fine. I also do not see any errors in the Console. |
Hi there, Can you re-enable reCaptcha so I can view this please? Have you registered here: https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/index.html and used the keys from that site within the settings? |

It has been enabled. Yes, it is registered and the keys have been entered. Chris |
Hi Chris, Another way to prevent spam that doesn’t involve using Recaptcha is you can enable the Enable Bot Trap setting in Event Espresso > Registration Form > Reg Form Settings tab. |
|
|
Enable Bot Trap & Encrypt Bot Trap Data have been activated since installation along with Captcha. Can I give you admin access so you can see all my settings if that would help. Is there a secure way to give them to you? |
|
If these are enabled could this be causing the conflict with Captcha? |
No those do not conflict with reCaptcha, but a theme function or another plugin’s function can conflict with EE’s reCaptcha function. |
