I am a web designer who is looking into using your plugin for a client. I have never setup an online payment system before and have a couple questions regarding the process. In order to process payments on the site using your plugin i simply need to purchase an SSL certificate through my hosting provider and get a PayPal Pro account setup. Next i simply configure the settings in wordpress and in your plugin and i am good to go? Is it that simple or will i need to get PCI compliance somehow? Any insight into the process would be much appreciated as i love your plugin and should be buying it shortly.

I answered your question via email, but wanted to post my answer here as well.

We appreciate your interest in Event Espresso. We’re glad you love it. 🙂

If you are going to process payments ON your site with one of our on-site gateways, then you need an SSL. If you are planning on using an off-site payment gateway, which transfers the customer to the gateway’s site and back to your site after payment, then you do not need an SSL. Once you have your Paypal (or other merchant account) set up, you just enter the credentials in the payment settings of Event Espresso.

Let us know if you have anymore questions.
