Hi When I look at this person’s registration in EE I see the payment status is incomplete… however we did get the confirmation notification of payment from paypal. Really would like to figure this out. What do you need from me to figure this out? Thanks |

So this has happened again today. Here is the transaction id of the registration: Client got the paypal notification but not the notification from EE. Are you able to log in and have a look at this. Urgently require attention to this please. Thanks |

Hi Terry, It sounds like the Instant Payment Notification is timing out when it tries to reach your site. It turns out this can happen from time to time due to network traffic or a number of other factors, and PayPal gives you a way to resend payment notifications to your website. Here’s how: 1) You log into the account at PayPal.com Along with that, you can speed up the loading of the IPN listener page (which is the /transactions page on your website) by installing the transactions page template. The transactions page template can be downloaded from this guide in the documentation: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-set-up-paypal-ipn/#incomplete |

Hi Josh Also I noticed I had two transactions pages in the admin. The slug on them was transactions and transactions-2. Could this of been part of the problem? Getting the paypal info from client to check IPN settings Terry |

Right, typically do not want a link to the transactions page to be included in your web site’s navigation. The page does need to be published so PayPal can reach it. If you are receiving some notifications (but not all) then your transactions page is set up correctly, but adding the simplified page template will help. |

I’ve installed the template now. I have access to my client’s paypal now and when I check the IPN settings there is no url entered in the ‘Notification URL’ field. Do I need to put a particular url here? Terry |
|
I believe so. PayPal will not let you save the IPN setting if something is not entered there. If you’re not using PayPal for anything thing else on the site (like an e-commerce plugin) you can input the transactions page URL for the site there. Either way Event Espresso will send the correct URL to PayPal when a transaction is sent. |

Hi Josh, I added the transactions page template last Thursday but this weekend we received two registrations without notifications from EE. For IPN notification url in paypal, our website also uses wp eCommerce for another product so we did not enter the transaction page url into the IPN field. Any other thoughts here as my client is becoming increasingly agitated. Terry |
|
Hi Terry, I’m almost certain that PayPal will not allow the IPN setting in your account to be enabled if the notify URL field is blank. What you can do is enter the notify URL for wp eCommerce there. Event Espresso will send PayPal its own notify URL and override what’s set there. |
