Payment Method settings after update

I cannot edit any payment method settings It shows the tabs “Payment Methods”, “Settings”, and “Logs”. I can see the settings tab and the Logs tab just fine, but the content within the Payment method no longer shows. I even checked the source to see if there was a display none somewhere and there wasn’t. Do I go back to a lesser version? I’m using Version 4.9.1.p.

Hello,

Moving back should not be necessary. Could you confirm that you updated through the WP plugins screen and not by overwriting manually through SFTP or FTP?

Overwriting is problematic if you upgraded from an older platform (e.g. Event Espresso 4.7.x).

If you upgraded through WP plugins, then please temporarily enable WP debugging and I’ll share those steps below.

Could you temporarily turn on WordPress debugging by adding the macro in the following link to your wp-config.php file?

The wp-config.php file can be found in the WordPress root which is where the wp-admin, wp-content, and other files and folders for WordPress resides.

Then please try to browse to different areas of the payment methods screen. Are any errors shown? If so, could you copy and paste that here into a reply?

If you do not see an error on your screen, then please browse to this location using your SFTP or FTP client (e.g. FileZilla, Cyberduck):

/wp-content/debug.log

You should see an error recorded within the file. Please copy and paste that here in a reply.

Then go ahead and immediately deactivate WordPress debugging by removing the macro that was recently added or setting it to false and saving changes:

I have done all of the things you suggested… BUT there are no errors within the debug.log file when trying to view the Payment Method page. I am able to see the Payment Method -> Settings and Payment Method -> Logs. But not the actual page. I just updated the plugin to 4.9.2.p and still nothing. I am running WP 4.4.4

You go to: Event Espresso – Maintenance > Reset/Delete Data and click the button that says Reset Event Espresso Capabilities. This will restore the capabilities to view Payment Method settings to your WordPress user account.

Did you try deactivating then reactivating the plugin?

Yes. Everything was working fine up until the 4.9.1.p update.

Your Administrator role did not have the following capabilities assigned to it:

ee_payment_method_aim
ee_payment_method_bank
ee_payment_method_check
ee_payment_method_invoice
ee_payment_method_paypal_standard

I added them using the User Roles plugin you had installed, and you’ll be able to use the Payment Method settings now.

Weird…. I did not know those were turned off! Great! Thank you for your help!
