payment incomplete

hi when someone registers for an event on our website & pays vial paypal, it says payment is incomplete & doesnt set change their status to approved. but when i login to paypal it shows the payment was processed & it went into our account?

Hi there,

Do you happen to have the WP Spamshield plugin active? If so, that may be the cause. You can disable the feature in WP Spamshield that blocks the communication from PayPal to your site by going to Settings > WP-SpamShield, then check the box that says “Disable anti-spam for miscellaneous forms.”

hi thanks. we dont have wp spamshield installed. i have already referred to that document and double checked everything. when i view my ipn history in paypal it just says retrying to all transactions. what else can i do to make the payments complete?

would it have anything to do with the site not being live yet? we have it built on our local host?

Hi there,

Yes that will be why the IPN’s are not being received.

The website is available to yourself locally, but not to the public (including PayPal) so the IPN’s can not send a response to PayPal to indiciated they have been received.

If you test an onsite gateway such as PayPal Pro it should update the payment/registration as expected as it does not use IPN’s.
