Hi,

I was facing problems with weird missing fields (eg, Required Fields Emails and Phone number) in the attendee list when I was using v3.1.26-P, which explains the main reason of the upgrade to v3.1.28.5.

However, after the upgrade, I realized that the payment option/gateway is missing on the Payment Overview Page.

I have tried renaming the old plugin folder “GatewayOLD”, Deactivate and Reactivate PayPal, Deactivate and Reactivate new EE but still nothing seems to work..

Any idea whats causing this to happen?

Thanks in advance!

Regards

Josh

Hi there,

One possibility is a theme conflict, where the theme is removing standard WordPress filters from the_content. A quick test to confirm and resolved this can be done by wrapping the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode with [raw] short tags on the main registration page like this:

[raw][ESPRESSO_EVENTS][/raw]

Another possibility is if there are old template or gateways files from the prior version in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates and/or /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways, these will override the current version’s template and gateway files. So if you’re having issues after an upgrade, it’s best to rename these folders in the /uploads folders. If you had made modifications, these can be copied back into the new template files. Please see this guide for more info:
https://eventespresso.com/wiki/put-custom-templates/

We recommend using Diffmerge to help merge changes into custom templates.

Hi Josh,

Thanks your reply.. I have tried both the “Renaming Folder” and “[raw]” techniques but both have fail to work..

I have also noticed that the Price is indicated at $0.00 at confirmation page. I suspect this could be the issue as its treating it as a free event hence not showing the Payment Options part.

The price of the event has been included when creating the event. this is weird..

Any idea where I should be looking? Again, this works perfectly well in the previous EE version..

Kindly advise.. Thanks!

Hi there,

Is the WP user integration add-on installed and activated? If so, is this add-on up to date?

If that’s the case, there’s an additional price option for members that would need to be entered, but would only affect the reg form if logged in.

Can you post a link to the registration page so we can have a look?

Hi Josh,

I believe you are referring to Event Espresso – Members Addon. I was previously running on V1.9. I have updated to v1.9.5.1 and its now showing the payment option page. Thanks for the tip!

However, clicking on the PayPal button leads to error page and “Your Shopping Cart is Empty”

The link is : http://www.clovenclive.com/event-registration?ee=1502

Any idea where I should be looking at…?

Thanks!

Regards,
Inro

Hi there,

I ran a test and from looking at the Payment Overview page, it’s evident that there’s an older copy of the gateway_display.php template in /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways. Can you try removing any files in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways directory so the new version’s templates do not get overridden by the obsolete templates?

Hi Josh,

Thanks for your reply and assistance..

The new version of EE is actually in plugins/espresso

And

The old version is in folder plugins/espresso-espressov.3.1.26-P and it has already been deactivated?
Also, in the old version I have renamed the templates and gateways folder.

Wouldnt the current setup already stop the plugin from calling the old version of EE?

Thanks..

Yes, it will stop the old version of the plugin from loading from the /plugins directory, but I’m referring to files in the /uploads directory, which will override files in the /plugins directory.

Can you try this? Open up an FTP client to access your server, then please check the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways for files. This is a different directory than the wp-content/plugins/ directory. Template and gateway files from older versions in that location will override what is in the plugin directory, so these need to be removed or updated after updating the plugin.
