I really love event espresso. For me it was a little bit complicate in the beginning but when you got the hang of it the flexibility is perfect. The only thing that I can not figure out or that is not possible with event espresso, maybe. With the other tools I can configure, that all extra costs will be paid by the purchaser. This is mainly extra fees for credit card or paypal payment. I have no problem to show the exact extra costs for the use of different payments but I have not found a solution to integrate it in event espresso. So for now only direct payment is possible which is not perfect. Does anybody has a solution for this problem? https://www.pax-terra-musica.de/veranstaltungen/tickets-2018/ |
Hi there, Firstly, thank you for the feedback, I’m glad EE is working for you.
Sure they can, if its against their TOS they can simply suspend your account. Has that happened? I have no idea. Will that happen? Again I have no idea. However last time I checked their TOS they stated you could not use a surcharge if it discouraged users from using PayPal, so we err on the side of caution. As far as I am aware, PayPal do allow you to add a surcharge onto payments to cover fees, however what they don’t allow is for you to add the surcharge onto PayPal only as it nudges users to use something else (which make sense as they want their service used). Right now we don’t have an option to add surcharges onto specific payment methods without custom development, we do have a snippet that can be used to add a question to the registration form and if the user selects a specific answer you can add a surcharge onto the transaction before they select the payment option however it does rely on the user answering that question honestly (see this reply). |

Thank you for the quick answer. But for your development team, maybe it is possible to include an extra discount for different payment methods. A bit like a promotion. Just an idea. |
Sorry, I didn’t mean it wasn’t possible if that is how it come across? Adding surcharges per payment method is possible, it’s just not something that EE has available currently and so it would require custom development to do. We do have an internal feature request ticket for adding surcharges per payment method and I’ll add this ticket/vote to to that ticket but its not a highly requested feature so is unlikely to be added to EE ‘soon’ without sponsorship. |
