Hi, We are using Event Espresso Version 4.6.19.p. We have enabled the “Payment Declined”, “Payment Received” and “Payment Failed” messages under Email settings for Messages. Only “Payment Received” messages are working. We are not able to get the “Payment Declined” or “Payment Failed” messages to go out. I have also tried creating custom templates for them – both Admin view and the Registrant view. Still could not get it to work. Any help or suggestions are much appreciated. We are very close to the point where we need to open the event for registration, hence cutting it pretty close. |

Hi Amit, by default those message types are disabled for the event admin. If you look at this screenshot, you’ll see that the event admin link appears in a grey color: http://cl.ly/image/1r0T1X1M3G3R Click on the event admin link for the Payment Declined message type. Then on the next page, you’ll see the messages editor for this message type. You can now add a shortcode to the TO field. Here are some examples: [EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL] [CO_EMAIL] — |

Hi Lorenzo, Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, even after enabling the Event Admin and the Primary Registrant context, I cannot emails for Payment Declined working. Neither the registrant nor the Admin are receiving the emails. Payment received however works fine. FYI, we are using WordPress version 4.1.1, if that helps. Alternatively, is there a way for the Admin to re-send the pending payments email to registrants whose payment is pending? This could help us in case the “Payment Declined” message is not working. Thanks fro your help, |

Hi Amit, how are you testing the Payment declined message type? Are you attempting a registration with a different web browser and then using bad payment information so the payment is declined? — |
|
Hi Lorenzo, Yes, I am testing the registration through a new browser window using Incognito mode. I submit wrong expiration date and CVV code so the payment is declined. Another thing I noticed is that, when I try to send test messages through the template, I am not able to send the messages to [EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL] or [CO_EMAIL]. I get following error, An error has occurred: However, when I type in an actual email address instead of shortcode, it works. Not sure if this is related to my problem or not. I just thought I would mention this. Thanks again, |

Hi Amit, Regarding this: The test message was not sent Were you previously using Event Espresso 4 decaf and then updated to Event Espresso 4? Could you go ahead and update to the newest version? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/ — |
|
Hi Lorenzo, I have updated the Event Espresso plugin to latest version, but still no success. We need to open the website for ticket sales this coming weekend and are pressed for time. I greatly appreciate your help to get this bug fixed. Thanks, |

Hi Amit, I’ve asked a developer to check into this and I’ll update this support post once I have more information. — |
|
Thanks Lorenzo. I will stay tuned for any next steps to resolve this issue. Regards, |

Do you have any update Lorenzo if the developer found something? I do see that you have a new version out there for Event Espresso? Should I update and try that? We badly need this payment declined message to work since it would become nightmare for us to send manual emails to registrants. Appreciate your help. Thanks, |

Hi Lorenzo, I saw another users post where they are facing similar issue I would think and are able to generate the “Payment Declined” messages, https://eventespresso.com/topic/confirmation-messages-not-sent-with-update-to-4-6-19-p/ Would you mind sending me the version 4.6.18-p that this user was able to make it work with? Thanks, |
