I upgraded Event Espresso to version 3.1.37.6.P and the payment button disappeared. We are using WP 4.3.1. I made it to the Payment Overview page and cannot go any farther. |
If something like this breaks after an update, this may mean that there are out of date template files (from a prior version of Event Espresso) in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/ directory. If you have modified templates in there, they need to be updated to use the new template files included with the current version of the plugin. If you haven’t made any modifications to the files in the /uploads/espresso/templates they can be removed. If you are not sure if there were modifications made to these files, you can back these up or rename that folder just in case. You can automatically rename the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates folder by going to Event Espresso>Template Settings and clicking the “Rename templates directory” button near the bottom of the page. If you can post a link to the event, we can also investigate further. |

Josh, The template folder is empty and there is not a rename template button on the page. The site is http://quantum.esu.edu/continuing_legal_education/ |
Hi Maccabee, I inspected the page and I’m not seeing any content for a payment button: http://cl.ly/image/2V1f3K2b1h2w Were you using a customized payment gateway before? If so, which one and what happens if you rename the gateway folder in this location by adding a number or letter at the end? /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways — |

I found the problem, the update removed the uPay payment gateway that your company created for us. I did renamed gateway folder (which is empty) and still no payment button. I updated the core product and the ticketing system. If I need to re-install the uPay gateway, please provide instruction. I was not involved when we originally purchased your plugins. |
Thanks for clarifying. Here are the steps to get back on track. Step 1 – Download uPay Step 2 – Unzip Step 3 – Install via SFTP / FTP to your site to gateway folder Then browse to this location: /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways Upload the payment gateway folder for uPay there. Then go to your WP dashboard and then the plugins screen. Deactivate and reactivate Event Espresso. If this doesn’t restore the payment gateway, then remove it from the gateways folder above and see the next step. Step 3b – Install to core plugin folder instead /wp-content/plugins/event-espresso/gateways/ Then upload the upay folder there. Then deactivate and reactivate Event Espresso 3 through the WP plugins screen. — |
