We are using Payfast as a payment method, but on the Payfast side we cannot see what the users payed for; the description is blank.
The only empty field I can see is “Admin-Only Description”. Is this the right field to populate the Description, and if so what should I enter into it to give the names of our different events?
No, the above field is not used for sending details over to the payment merchant (PayFast in this case), that’s all done through the payment method’s code.
PayFast themselves created that payment method so this is something you’ll need to check with their support. Looking over their code it looks like they send FName, LName, Email, Amount and the ‘Reg code’ under item name but no additional details.
