Thanks Dean. The site is live and is accessed by a lot of people so I am a little reluctant to cause any instability. I will get a developer to look at it to see what could be causing this.
Please let us know when you are able to test. Then entire process should take about 5 minutes.
You could try during off-hours and you can speed up the test by opening two windows side by side.
Then in one window start a registration and in the other toggle plugins on and off (while you test registrations in the first window).
