Is there a way or some sort of extension to password protect docs relating to an event?
In this instance it is a course with lectures and we want to be able to upload PDF’s of the lectures so only people who have registered and paid for the course/event can access them on a timed basis (one month after event has passed).
I know if you used something like Memberpress you could do this but that plugin is a bit overkill for something like this. I can’t see it in the plugin or extensions so I’m assuming it’s not possible and if this is the case would you be able to suggest a suitable plugin. so we want to protect a specific page whereby the user has to enter their email address and a password.
With the current features of Event Espresso, I would put the links to those documents inside the confirmation emails, or in an email to those people, so they don’t need to use a email address or password (which can be passed around too, or the files can be downloaded and passed around). Then, after 30 days, or whenever, just remove those files from the web so they cannot be accessed at the same location.
Hi. Yes and No really. The end client doesn’t want to just email out the link. As then the delegates could just email the link to anyone else and they can then download them. So there’s not much difference in those terms.
I think I’ll look to see if I can find a free basic membership plugin that only grants access to a specific email/user with password and expires after 30 days or so.
Thanks.
As long as someone has a file, they can pass it around however they want.
Let me know if I can do anything else for you.
