Hi – is it possible to have Event Espresso handle the following:

– We have a 2 week course, for kids attending holiday camps
– Buyers can book just one day (@ a daily cost), or 1 full week (@ discount vs the daily cost), or the whole 2 weeks (@ further discount to daily cost)
– And we’d like to collect custom attendee information (name of the child, contact number, allergies etc)

I’d envisaged settings up 10 events, corresponding to the 10 days (weekedays only), which the buyer would add to their basket.

Can the price calculation and buyer custom data collection be done?

Thanks, Matt.

Hi Matt, here is feedback on your project needs:

I’d envisaged settings up 10 events, corresponding to the 10 days (weekedays only), which the buyer would add to their basket.

The above could be handled with the multiple events registration add-on. That is currently available for Event Espresso 3.

Here is how I would create this:

One event would be created for each day and would have a daily pricing option set.

Then a separate event would be created for the 1 week program with discount pricing.

Another event would be created for the full program with discounted pricing.

Then you could add links to the event description for each daily event. Something like this:

Need to register for the 1 week program? Click here?

Interested in the complete program? Click here?

By default Event Espresso needs a name and an email to complete a registration. Custom questions could be created through the questions editor. Then these could be added to a new question group.

The last step would be to link your new question group to an event. This is done through the event editor.

Once this has been setup, a parent/guardian will have the following choices:

+ Register for a daily event
+ Register for multiple daily events
+ Register for 1 week program
+ Register for complete program (two weeks)

Let us know if this helps!

Hi there,

I am working on a similar camp registration system, and have a few follow up questions.

What about daily capacity in this situation? Whether the registration is a single day or the full week, we need it to subtract from the same number each day. If you have two separate events, would their capacities be able to interact? We have 10 weeks to keep track of, so constantly referring to two availabilities wouldn’t work for us.

I actually tried to set up a sample week on your EE4 demo site with a weekly ticket option and a daily ticket option:
http://demoee.org/blog/events/spring-camp/
But after ticket selection, I receive the following error and am unable to select the datetimes and continue to see if this approach will work:
“No configuration section has been provided while attempting to save “_Config”. EE_Config – _verify_config_params – 423″

The Single ticket allots you 1 datetime, the Full Week allots 5 and they each have their own defined price. Ideally, we would extend this one event to ten weeks (with 50 datetimes) and sell in blocks of single and weekly tickets, then let the user select their datetimes over the course of the full 10 weeks.

Once installed on my own server, would that be a workable option?

Thanks,
Alyssa

If you have two separate events, would their capacities be able to interact?

In Event Espresso 4 you would set up a datetime for each day, with it’s own capacity, then have tickets for each of those days and then a ticket for the week. Does that make sense?

I actually tried to set up a sample week on your EE4 demo site…

Sorry, we experienced some data corruption in the MySQL database and have actually reset the entire site. Can you please try logging back in trying your test again?

OK, tested this again (thanks for getting the demo site back up!): http://demoee.org/blog/events/spring-camp/

I created a date time for each day within the Event, and two tickets: a daily and weekly ticket. You can now select your ticket qty, but I’m confused — how does the user select their datetimes to use their tickets on?

Is there any way instead for the user to select their datetimes FIRST and then calculate how many tickets you need to purchase? Does this require the EE3 Multiple Events add-on?

Thanks!
