Hello again, so I published my first event after working on the draft for a long time, and it does not show on my website. When I click on “View”, it goes to a “404/Page Not Found” message. The event appears as Upcoming but no page is displayed.
One more thing, I just found that the event shows up on the /events page, but when I click on “Read More” to go to the page itself, then the 404 page not found appears. The image below shows the event displaying on the Events page. I also went to Settings>Permalinks and saved them 2 times to flush the permalinks and force them to update, but still the page does not show.
So I suspect there is something that’s not quite right with the rewrite rules set on your website, or possibly another WordPress plugin is altering the rewrite rules.
You can follow the general Troubleshooting guide to eliminate possible causes:
Another thing that you could try that may help is you go to Event Espresso > Events > Templates and you change what’s set for the “Event Slug” option. You could try setting that option to something like tutoring-events.
Thank you Josh for your reply. I actually did change the slug on the templates page 5 min before I got your reply and it worked. Now it works well, but annoys me it can’t use /events url so I’ll try the troubleshooting guide and see if I can fix it.
