Oversold events with offline payment

Hi there,

We have a problem with oversold events:
• If someone is booking an ticket with offline payment like bank transfer than after finishing his registration has status “pending payment”. That´s correct.
• But this pending registration doesn´t reserve its ticket. It´s still available.
• Ticket is only sold after we set status to completed.
• Reservation only works while 1h session but 1 hour after booking ticket is available.

I can´t find any settings for this behaviour, is this a bug or how can I fix it that registration with pending payment also are reservations of a ticket?

Hi there,

This isn’t a bug, no.

You’ll need to change the ‘Default Registration Status’ on your event(s) to be ‘Approved’ if you want registrations to select offline payment methods. ‘Approved’ registrations are the only registrations that count towards your sold values. By default, registrations will remain ‘Pending Payment’ until full payment is made, unless the Default Registration Status is set to something else.

So the only way for registration using offline payment methods (such as Invoice) is for you to use a Default Registration Status (DRS) of Approved.

Edit the event you are currently testing this on and look in the ‘Event Registration Options’ metabox, you will see the DRS option there.

Set that to Approved and add a registration using Invoice, does it now work how you expect?
