We have our Payment Received messages customized for different events currently. We would like to make it so that when a registration is processed, information is included that informs the recipient of the Event Admin email of the number of total event attendees for that event (i.e. ALL attendees, not just the registrants from the singular registration like the [ATTENDEE_LIST] outputs). Is it possible to do this? Thanks!

Hi Robert,

Currently EE does not include a shortcode that will output the full registration list within the message system. It would be possible to do however you will need some custom development to create a shortcode that can pull in all of the registrations, loop through those registrations building out a list and then output that to the message being generated.

If you are not currently working with a developer familiar with Event Espresso we have a list here:

That makes sense. We’ve done a fair amount of custom coding from what we can figure out ourselves and haven’t been working with a developer. I just wanted to see if this was a feature that I was overlooking because it seems useful and simple enough. A shortcode that outputs a total list of event registrants, or even just the number of registrants, for the event admin would be a beneficial edition to future updates of EE! Thanks for the response.

I didn’t think of this earlier, but one problem with listing all of the attendee’s is the more registrations you pull in the more likely you are to cause a timeout.

It is unlikely to cause problems with smaller events but once you start getting into 2/300 registrations your pulling info for each, looping over each of those registrations and outputting the details within the email. That’s going to start getting very close causing timeouts on the site and even if not the email would end up really long.

Generally we try to avoid adding feature into core that could cause further problems for users as their events grow, especially when it comes to emails.

However adding a registration count for the event would be possible, I’ll create a ticket to discuss including that within core.
