After getting the run around from the first server person I spoke to who swore the issue was EE and that I should delete all the plugins and reinstall, I finally got another tech who seemed to figure out it was my php INI(?) values needed to be adjusted. There may also be an issue with JetPack. Do you guys know of any conflict with JetPack? I’m afraid to mess with it right now because things are working and we have orders flying in. But at the same time, I need to keep the backups and other stuff going.

Hi there,

After getting the run around from the first server person I spoke to who swore the issue was EE and that I should delete all the plugins and reinstall

Not to bash your host (I have no idea who is hosting your site) but unfortunately, this is common. Techs see a notice/warning/error from Event Espresso trying to fun a function and instantly blame Event Espresso for the problem when it can be as something as simple as low memory.

I finally got another tech who seemed to figure out it was my php INI(?) values needed to be adjusted.

php.ini is how you set the php settings on your server, do you know which values they changed?

If the site worked prior to you opening registrations and then when you got increased traffic it crashed I’m going to guess your site needed more memory although it could really be anything, we’d need the errors from the error log to know more.

There may also be an issue with JetPack.

How so?

Do you guys know of any conflict with JetPack?

None that I’m aware of, what issues are you running into with JetPack and EE?

I’m afraid to mess with it right now because things are working and we have orders flying in. But at the same time, I need to keep the backups and other stuff going.

That’s understandable but creating backups shouldn’t cause issues and even if they did cause a problem it should only be temporary. Say for example the request was too much for the server to handle, it should only last a few minutes at most as when you request is killed everything should go back to how it was right before that.

Having said that it does depend on how the server is set up.

May I ask, who is hosting the site? What type of hosting package are you using? (Shared?)
