Hi there! This is not urgent, so if anyone is in a panic go ahead and answer them first!
So, now that the site is up it has major optimization issues – page speed, which is mostly due to the theme that we’ll be switching off of. However, when I run my site through pingdom.com, pages without any Event Espresso functionality are still loading js files. It’s not a big deal, obviously – would you just suggest we suppress this in the functions.php? Also, I’ve been searching the forums and if anyone else has any awesome tips on tweaking wordpress to help keep the burden of plugins at bay specifically regarding event espresso, that would be awesome. I’m not saying your product is a drag on the system – I haven’t tested it yet but don’t have complains. Still, every avenue needs to be pursued. Changing the theme will be a big help.
Those resources load site-wide so that Event Espresso shortcodes can be used on various pages and posts. For example, a blog post about an event and then add a registration form at the end of the post through a shortcode.
GTMetrix is also a good tool for getting recommendations on making your site faster.
