Hi,
Hope you can help. I have EE4 and I have looked at previous threads regarding open dated vouchers but unsure which way to turn …
I want to sell gift vouchers valid for 10 months – that can be redeemed for my own events listed with EE. I can see there are two options – either via Groupon Voucher Codes (not avail on EE4 – but on EE3) or I can see more recently other people have used the Promotions Plugin?
Essentially I wish to sell Gift Vouchers – the receiver will then go to my site and enter a unique code provided on their gift voucher – used once.
Can you please provide me with the latest guide on how to do this? Or let’s say recommendations on how to approach?

Hi there Sonia,
Event Espresso does not currently have a gift certificates feature. This could be done by manually creating a discount code but that has some limitations.
For example, if a gift voucher is purchased, then you would need to create a discount code for that amount (e.g. $100) and send it to the customer.
However, if less than that total amount is spent, then there won’t be a “remaining balance.”

Many thanks Lorenzo – this won’t be a problem as it only for one set product (or two at a push).
How do I create a discount code ? it would be really helpful if you can share a link?

Hi Sonia,
Do you have the EE4 Promotions & Discounts Add-on installed and activated currently?
If not please download the add-on from your account page, then install and activate that add-on through Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New -> Upload.
Once you have that add-on installed you’ll find a new ‘Promotions’ section within Event Espresso – http://take.ms/PBkyU
Within that section you can add promo codes – http://take.ms/prTvi
Are you looking for these codes to be available only for certain events or all events?

Thanks Tony – only for certain events which are the Segway ride events. I am also using Infusionsoft, so can we integrate it throught that too please so we have it on their record?

Hi Sonia,
When you set up the promo codes, you can check the boxes next to the Segway ride events in the Promotion applies to.. column. This way the codes will be available only for those events.
Regarding Infusionsoft, currently our Infusionsoft add-on does not pass the Promo code to the record in Infusionsoft. I can put in a feature request for this to be considered in a future version though.
