The organization needs to be able to track number of adult tickets and number of child tickets per event. The tickets are the same price. We added a free-form text field for registrants to enter this information during registration, but it’s creating confusion as they assume by typing these numbers in the free-form field that the system is then automatically determining the quantity. They are then ignoring the actual quantity box at the bottom that the pricing is based on.
My first thought was to just create two ticket levels – one for adults and one for kids – and keep the pricing the same. The problem is that this does not allow a quantity field for each level on the form that I can see. Registrants will always be purchasing at least one adult and one child ticket for each registration so both ticket levels need to be available and have a quantity option. Is this possible? Would the Multiple Event Registration work for this? Or is there a more basic option I’m overlooking? I’m hoping to keep it as simple as possible for registrants.
I think Multi Event Registration (MER) would be your best option. MER allows you to add a single event (or multiple events) to the cart, then select multiples/singles of each ticket type for those events.
You could disable the registration form the the event by editing the event, look in the event settings (sidebar) and set ‘Display registration form?’ to No and add the ESPRESSO_CART shortcode within the event description.
