Seems like we continue to have strange things happening on this newer version of EE.
1. We can’t delete a datetime while in the initial pre-publication mode. used to be able to get to the garbage can icon even while creating a datetime.
2. Add images is way too difficult due to the increased size of the media library. There some weird styling in the newest version of EE that makes it relly hard to see the images in the media library when creating an event. If you are in the text editor of any other post type, the media library looks great – and normal. But if opening from an event, it’s impossible to deal with.
3. The range of dates behaves weirdly on the calendar. The first date is only a thin line and the full bar doesn’t show up until the days of the following week.

So are you still using the legacy editor rather than advanced?

This is something I can reproduce so have created a ticket to investigate.
2. Add images is way too difficult due to the increased size of the media library. Hmm, strange. I’m not having any issues with the media library on my sites so this may be a plugin conflict.
Can you post a screenshot of what your media library looks like, please?
