Hello,

I set an email as a primary contact a week ago. Let’s call it email address #1

I have since changed the primary contact to email address#2 but notifications keep going to email address #1. Is there another way to update primary contact?

Also, is it possible to get notifications on 2 different emails?

Thanks

Hi Ruth,

I have since changed the primary contact to email address#2 but notifications keep going to email address #1. Is there another way to update primary contact?

The ‘Primary Contact Email’ is used by the [CO_EMAIL] and [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL] shortcodes. By default Event Espresso sents the emails to the event author email address, so the email address set on the user account that created the event.

However you can change the messages to use the Primary Contact email if preferred.

Go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default message templates.

You will see a list of message templates there.

Any message that has the ‘Event Admin’ context enabled will use the EVENT_AUTHOR shortcode in the to field so you’ll need to edit each one and change them to [CO_EMAIL] or [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL].

_FORMATTED shortcodes output the email with the name – John Smith <example@example.com>, non formatted emails do not.

For as an example, to change the ‘Registration Approved’ message, click the ‘Event Admin’ context on that message – http://take.ms/aEZHU

Now within the TO field change the shortcode to [CO_FORMATTED_EMAIL]http://take.ms/MgQnH

Then click ‘Save and Close’ to save the change and move onto the next template.

Also, is it possible to get notifications on 2 different emails?

Yes it is, you can add another email in the TO field separated by a comma.

However some mailservers do not like this setup and will simply not send the emails when you do this. Its much better to make the above change to use the CO_EMAIL shortcode within the templates and create a ‘group’ email with your mail providers, then set that group email as the Primary Contact email.

Thank you! That fixed the issue.
