My client has experienced a number of failed emails recently due to our SMTP provider doing maintenance. Is there a way for failed emails to be automatically retried or an email notification to know when emails have failed?

We don’t automatically retry emails as we found that some providers were showing the email as failed, but still actually sending the email so then when EE retried the email it ended up creating duplicates (sometimes more than a couple).
There is also the issue that triggering an email because emails are working, which means the notification to say the emails are working at that time will likely also not send, right?
Do these emails show as failed in Event Espresso message activity log?
