I have seen the discussions around this problem but I haven’t found a clear answer and I’m EXTREMELY UNTECHNICAL. I really need help as this problem is costing us money. The site URL with the problem is http://milehighfitness.com/e/events/digitalglobe/ and there is one event that works fine, the other two have problems. |
Hi Kim, I replied to your email that we could continue here. You are now on the latest version of Event Espresso and you are not currently using any caching plugins and testing was done on different devices. I see that the site is on Godaddy. In the top left area of the toolbar in your WP dashboard — is there a cache toggle? If so, this site in on the managed hosting plan with Godaddy which does not allow caching to be turned off. This is a problem as registration checkout is a dynamic experience which is similar to buying something in an online store. If you do not see that toggle, then you may be on a regular Godaddy hosting plan which is okay. The next step would be testing with only Event Espresso running on your site. This will rule out any plugin conflicts that may be happening. Try temporarily deactivating all plugins and then reactivating only Event Espresso. Then try a registration and if you are able to proceed, then go back and reactivate a few more plugins. Continue this process until you experience the issue that was original reported. Thanks — |

thanks Lorenzo deactivating the plug ins including EE and then reactivating them worked. |
Hi Kim, Can you check double check with GoDaddy to see which hosting package you are currently using with them please? The reason being that if you are using the Managed WordPress hosting packages: https://uk.godaddy.com/pro/managed-wordpress-hosting You will continue to have issues once the site is cached again. |

Hello they said I do not have a managed word press hosting package. thank you. |
Hi Kim, were you able to determine the plugin that was creating a conflict? If so, you should keep that plugin off (deactivated) as its currently creating issues with registration checkout. — |

the only plug ins I have are Akismet for spam control and CKEditor for WordPress. I had no problems with any events before yesterday and I didn’t change anything until you told me to upgrade. why would the plug ins start causing problems all of a sudden? also, the problems weren’t consistent with every event, some were working correctly. |
Hi Kim, The issues that you described here and in your prior emails sounded very much like an incorrectly configured caching option but you mentioned that you already checked for this. Could you follow up with us here so we can take a look? https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ Just complete the form to the best of your knowledge and we’ll go from there. — |

Ok I will. In the meantime, the registration page doesn’t have https so people are uneasy about paying. Is there a setting for ssl or something? |
|
also do you need admin priveleges? an email address is required to create a new user in the backend what email address should I use? |
Hi, you can use this email and yes we’ll need an admin login. support @ eventespresso.com I’d like to see if there are old caching rules in place. This can happen if a caching plugin was in use before and then deleted before turning the actual caching feature off. — |
