Are you aware of any changes that were made to the site either at the WordPress level or at the lower levels of the server? For example did the host recently upgrade the server software?
Last update was 3 days ago. I updated to most recent Event Espresso Version and paypal express. I have had successful registrations since until today. No other changes to website or server (using Bluehost shared server)
I spoke with Bluehost and they indicated nothing had changed from their end. They suggested disabling other plugins. I disabled the Akismet Anti-Spam plugin and that one seemed to resolve the issue. Not sure if this is a “fix” (just leaving it disabled) or if there is another issue.
I setup Akismet (current version at 3.3) on a site running PayPal Express for Event Espresso 4.9.36 and then ran a couple registrations in different web browsers and I was able to complete the registrations:
Was Akismet the only plugin that you deactivated or were there others?
