I just updatet event espresso and WordPress to the latest version: Event Espresso 4 Core Regular v5.0.8.p. I hoped that I could update the php to version 8 (and higher even). Unfortunately it only works with php version 7,4. And that version is deprecated.

Could you please make the plugin compatible with the latest php version?

Kind regards,
Sya kleijer

Hi there,

What happens when you update to PHP8.0?

Event Espresso is compatible with PHP8.0.XX, PHP7.4 is our minimum PHP requirement.

After updating the php to version 8, the last step to register does not work. It’s not possible to register for an event. “something went wrong because of a technical issue”

And sometimes the following notification: he following errors have occurred:
Incoming data does not have a valid Attendee object for the primary registrant.
A valid Primary Registration for this Transaction could not be found.

There are a LOT of reasons for those specific errors can happen.

Do you have a staging/dev clone of the live site? I’d recommend creating one and work through this here using PHP8.

Which specific PHP8 version are you testing?

If you check the error logs, can you see any fatal errors from Event Espresso there?
