Not all answers to questions are saved during registration

Hi there,

we are experiencing major problems with the answers a registrant enters during registration. Not all answers seem to be saved and it is very difficult and inconsistent how and where they can be accessed and displayed.

Here is the scenario:

1. We are using most of the system questions and want all of them to be displayed in the registration entry detail of the primary registrant. It seems that some of them (incl. e.g. zip code) are not saved at all.

2. We have added custom questions for first and last name of additional registrants. In the registration form they are working as expected. But how can they be displayed in the registration entry overview? There is always the name of the primary registrant in the overview, and the additional info can only be seen when opening the registration entry details. 3. In the confirmation email there hast to be a simple list of all attendees, that should be looking like this:

“Primary registrants first name” “Primary registrants last name”
“Additional registrants first name” “Additional registrants last name”

How can this be accomplished with the setup mentioned above?

Ok, I think 2. and 3. are due to the fact that we deactivated the “personal information” group for additional attendees, because there shouldn’t be an email field for those. And the custom questions for first and last name were the only way to achieve that.

Is there a way to have additional attendees without email? I’ve read across the forum that I am not the only one with that problem…

Hi, if you turn off the personal question group for additional attendees, then those registrations will be associated with the primary attendee.

If you need to specify a new record for an additional attendee, then Event Espresso will need at least a name and an email address. Other questions such as the address questions are optional.

thanks, that’s what I figured. No plans for making the email optional for additional attendees on your end?

Apart from that, the issue No. 1 still needs to be solved. Not all answers are saved (even not all answers to system questions).

Not currently, I will open a ticket to discuss this.

Some of the system questions save within the ‘contact’ made for the attendee.

For example if I register with a mixture of the default personal info questions, the system info questions and the address info group – http://take.ms/XEfzi

When I look within the registration (Event Espresso -> Registrations) you can see the registration there, if you click to edit that registration you’ll see something like this – http://take.ms/GvTVT

So the custom questions are all included at the bottom of the registration.

The details that would be considered relevant to the ‘contact’ are stored within the contact. You can click the ‘View/Edit Contact’ button to see more details.

Is that not happening on your site?
