Hi
The client wants to have different confirmation emails for speakers at an event that have been manually entered. I thought the only way to do something like this is to set-up a new, non-active event so it doesn’t appear in the events listing widgets. Then they can customise the email and send that. But non-active events don’t appear to let you add attendees
I looked into the docs for the waitlist option but then I have to adjust the menus to hide these. Is there an easy way to have a non-published event that you can simply control from the backend – a bit like a contractor/admin list?
Waitlist events should NOT be displayed on the front-end, they should only are accessible with the correct URL for that event. Waitlist events were intended as overflow events but many people have used them for the purpose you described.
Are waitlist events being dislayed on you main registration page / calendar etc?
Thanks, I was probably confused by the wiki doc: 4. Exclude the Waiting List Event From Your Main Listings. This is prob only necessary when you have set the overflow.
Is there a way of getting the wait list event to appear in the overview without using the filters? It has to be managed by a third party and this will permanently confuse them…
Not without modifying core event espresso files. The change from displaying everything to filtering events in the overview was decided to help clean up the overview page and help with load times too.
