Hi, I have received reports from confused customers because when they hit the register button without selecting quantity. Currently there is no warning message instructing them to select quantity in order to proceed. Below is a link to an example page if you try to proceed with registration without a quantity selected the page re-loads but no pop up. Is there any way to add one here?

Can the event details be displayed in reverse order? i.e. Currently Event Title, $, Quantity would like to show it as Quantity, $, Event Title. To help customers mentioned above see that quantity should be selected first to make it more user friendly.

Thanks,
B

Hi there

Changing the order of the columns isn’t really an option unless you have a PHP developer on your team that can reprogram the Ticket Selector template.

One solution that will help is you add a Ticket Selector short code to the actual page content of the page, instead of only in the Fusion Layout builder.

When the Ticket Selector short code is in the WordPress page content, Event Espresso will load its scripts that help validate the ticket selector form. If the form doesn’t have a quantity selected, the scripts prevent the form from being submitted.

You can see an example of how those scripts work if you go to the actual event page here and try to submit the form without selecting a ticket quantity.

Hi Josh, this sounds great. I would like to clarify with my current in page setup rather than using the actual event page. To activate the warning pop up. Do I add the short code a second time to the default wordpress editor or do I remove the short code from the fusion builder and then just insert the short code in the default editor instead in the same page within the HTML? We needed more control of the design and layout of the course pages which is why we chose the embedded option. If possible I would like to have the pop ups on the custom page.

Either of the above options should work.

Hi Josh, I tried this on the following demo page and the top example is completely outside of the fusion code. I still cant seem to get the pop up to launch.

Is the event currently privately published? (I get 404 when I click the link, if its private that would explain why)

Currently the button shows ‘View Details’ which means the ticket selector is disabled on the event.

Do you have the ‘Display ticket selector’ option set to No on that event? – http://take.ms/vDYz6

I am sorry, the item is published now. I had drafted it earlier and you responded quicker than I had expected. Please try again now.

So I can see the event, and it displays the ticket selector so that option is not disabled.

Can you provide more details on how you are building the buttons on the above page?

I am using the short code below to add the ticket selector to a custom page.

[ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR event_id=’6155′]

Hi Brett,

The validation message appears when I try submitting the ticket selector form without selecting a quantity. Here’s a short video that shows what happens.

You may need to clear your browser’s cache to ensure the correct scripts are loaded on that page.

Hi Josh, You are correct. My bad. I cleared the cache and it worked perfect. I just replaced the code generated by the Fusion Builder with the original short code from above and it worked perfect and appeared the same place in the layout. Thank you very much for setting me straight on this. You guys are awesome! Case closed.
