Hi Cade,

Can let us know where you’re seeing this error, also, can you check to see if the registration record is in the system?

As I enter event registration I get he 198 error on the first page.
Interestingly the event is showing as upcoming although it is open. I select upcoming and the ticket options appear. Select a ticket and hit register takes me to checkout. Enter personal info and hit proceed to payment. Previously on this page I received error 719 but not this time. I finalized registration and received congrats message.

Hi Cade,

Thanks for the additional info. This looks like there’s an issue with the [ESPRESSO_THANK_YOU] and/or the setting for the Thank You page.

You can most likely fix this by going to Event Espresso > General Settings > Critical Page tab, check for errors and make sure Page Status and Shortcodes are OK. Then save the settings page.

Then, if you still see the error, you go to edit your active events and make sure that the [ESPRESSO_THANK_YOU] shortcode is not in any of the events’ descriptions. If it’s there, you remove the shortcode and update the event.

Verified critical pages, all ok and saved again.

Checked the event for short code (using shortcode tab at top) nothing there.
The description box is blank.
Went to view the page and inspect the source there, searched for [ESPRESSO_THANK_YOU] and none found. A game on hide and seek, eh?

It can be, however if you’re comfortable with using phpmyadmin you do a search in the database for it, and that’s much quicker. We can do the search as well. If that’s okay with you, we’ll just need temporary access to your web server, which you can send via the secure form on this page:

Sent the info, thanks for the assistance. I responded a while ago but I … uh… missed a required field and did not notice until now.

Hi there,

We received your information, but I’m afraid the password and FTP information are incorrect. Can you resend please? Also, since the FTP information was mostly missing, if you’re not sure where to get FTP information, you can get it from your web host.

Are you looking for the FTP connection information as if I was using Filezilla to connect to the server, or do you want to connect to wordpress dashboard like a user would?

Hi Cade,

We need both sets of details.

FTP details you would use to connect via Filezilla and an Admin login to the WordPress Dashboard.

Something in your site is calling the [ESPRESSO_THANK_YOU] page shortcode when it’s on an event archive page. I couldn’t find it, but I disabled the notification by adding a line of code to your active theme’s archive.php template.

Hi there,

I read your email about the Search Engine results. If you have an SEO plugin installed on your site, you can set your registration checkout and thank you pages to have noindex tags (on those pages, not all of your pages of course). For example the Yoast WP SEO plugin has this feature built in.
