Hi there, I have had an inquiry from my client about transactions not completing properly. I’ve set up a test event, and I get the same results. I register and pay, get my rcpt from paypal, but when I click the “return to site” link the screen I’m put back into is the payment overview which says that status is incomplete and gives me the paypal button again…also I got NO autoresponder. Can someone please advise or work with me to get this sorted? This client has numerous events for registration as the events are the backbone of her business and I need to ensure that EE is working asap. Test event is here: http://imind.ca/event-registration/?regevent_action=register&event_id=24 I’ve tried it twice with the same results. Also, probably because the system is not knowing that payment happened it’s showing 0 registrants when it should show me twice. |

In fact NONE of her events are showing attendees, but I can confirm she has had ppl register and pay online already. |

It sounds like the site is not getting IPN messages from Paypal. Do you have IPN turned on in your paypal account? Is your notifications page public and visible? |
Hi Shayne, Something is not working correctly if there are no attendees in the attendee overview. Can you check in the database and look in the wp_events_attendee to see if there are attendees there? There likely will be entries there and if so it may be a case where there is a JavaScript error in the WordPress admin that is preventing the table that normally displays the attendee records. In which case the issue could be narrowed down by opening the admin page in Firebug and checking for JavaScript errors. |

Thank you Sidney and Josh. So I’ve looked in the wp_events_attendee and see there are attendees but Firebug reveals no errors. What now? |

Found it! To confirm there were no errors in the js, and the ipn is turned on. But when searching IPN on the EE forums I came across a post pointing the finger at Bad Behaviour (spam blocker). I disabled it and voila, autoresponders are sending AND attendees are showing. Now to find a replacement for that plugin because this client gets a ton of spam. For the thread I saw the answer on, go here: https://eventespresso.com/forums/2011/04/paypal-ipn-problem-2/ |
Hi Shayne, You can still use the Bad Behavior plugin, but you’ll need to configure it so that PayPal.com is whitelisted. If you re-activate Bad Behavior, you’ll see a log in the options which will show you every attempt that PayPal made to reach your site. The IP addresses that it lists for those attempts should be added to the whitelist. You may need to keep an eye on the logs in case PayPal adds or changes the IP addresses they use: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-set-up-paypal-ipn/#troubleshooting |
