We’ve just had an odd experience with Event Espresso. We’ve had Event Espresso version 4.9.64.p installed on our client’s Website since the beginning of January, added new events at the end of July, and the events were listed without problems since August 27th (the date noted of the last event ticket purchase.) Today, our client e-mailed us that their Website showed a “No Results Found” on the page where the events listing should have been. Not only did that particular page not shown a listing, but other event listing pages also showed “No Results Found.” There was nothing obvious that would have caused this after looking around the plugin settings, and our license was still active on the server (according to our Event Espesso account.) However, the plugin did indicate it needed to be updated to the current version (from 4.9.64.p to 4.10.13.p.) Only after I updated the plugin did all the event listings appear on all pages again. Would you have any insight why the event listings suddenly disappeared? Is there anything about the most recent EE plugin updates (after 4.9.64, even though we’ve been on that version since January) that would have caused things to not work, or require a plugin update in order for event listings to appear? Thank you. |

Hi there, Your license key has no effect on EE’s functionality, we intentionally do not limit EE on your site regardless of your license status (with the exception of one-click updates won’t work if the license key has been flagged for an issue). We don’t have any ‘remove kill switch’ or anything like it built into Event Espresso, so the version of Event Espresso running on your site at any point in time should work in exactly the same way regardless of what we (EventEspresso.com) do in terms of licensing etc. One issue I have seen in the past is another plugin (or the theme) hooking in and flushing permalinks at an unexpected point in the request, which then removes EE rewirte_rules and the event list breaks. Updating the plugin will flush permalinks and fix that issue, but it’s the permalink flush that fixes it rather than the update itself and that can be done totally separately by visiting Dashboard -> Settings -> Permalinks. The odd part of your report is that you mention it happens on multiple pages, can you link me to those pages so I can take a look? |

Thank you for the suggestion about the permalinks update — should the issue happen again, that will be the first thing we try. Yes, it happened on all EE event listing pages (but no other pages.) All the event listing pages came back after I updated the plugin, so the “No Results Found” error pages no longer exist. Thank you for your help! |

No problem. If it comes up again I’d recommend creating a database backup before trying to fix anything, we should then be able to confirm if the above is indeed the issue or something else is going on. |
