I am unable to send emails from EE 4. Every time I try a created or test message I get the following error: The following errors have occurred: Sometimes there are email addresses in those To/From spaces and sometimes it is names. Installed Check Email which failed to send emails, but WP Mail SMTP is able to send through the PHP mail() method. I’m truly lost here. |
Hi there, May I ask what’s the version number of Event Espresso 4 on your site? It may also help to go through those message templates where the to/from spaces are names instead of email address and make sure those fields have shortcodes like |

Hi Josh, Version 4.9.23 (apologies for forgetting). I did make those changes after searching through the forums. Not only did the sending not work but the names didn’t even change in the error. I should also point out (maybe?) the messages are going into failed-eligible for resend and not just failed. |
You can install the email logging plugin, then try sending a test email, then check the log to see the error(s) captured there. |

So I did that and I get no errors but I get this header: MIME-Version: 1.0,\nFrom:xxx@moravianmusic.org,\nReply-To:xxx@moravianmusic.org,\nContent-Type:text/html; charset=utf-8 It is supposed to be sending this email to the registrant but it’s trying to send everything to the admin address. I did change the templates as you directed and checked to make sure they were still correct, which they are. I have reached out to the owner of the email address to see if he has been getting emails but haven’t heard back yet. |

Wait, I misread everything. It’s not sending to the moravianmusic address, that’s “reply to.” I’ve looked at this stuff so long I’m going crosseyed! That said, what I tried to send was a registration approved email and that should send one copy to the admin, but all three have the primary registrants address listed instead. |
The To: field for the admin email should have a short code like |
|
|
OK. I will change that. Just heard from him and those emails aren’t reaching him either. So it isn’t an addressing problem. |
It may be a problem with email landing in the spam folder. Those emails are being logged as sent, correct? |
