Hello, I uploaded the EE 4.9.79 from the website. For some reason the automatic update was not working for me. I have used this plugin now for 4 years but this is the first time that I went into the website to activate it and now it won’t show up in the dashboard at all.

Additionally, when I go to the plugin page and click on the events button below the Event Espresso name a page pops up that says, “You do not have access to this route.” I need some help because it seems that somehow I have no access to be able to create a new event.

Can someone please help me figure this out? We are about to open our registration for our annual events and I need this working properly.

Hi there,

How did you upload Event Espresso? FTP or using the plugins menu?

If you used FTP I recommend re-installing using the plugins menu incase any of the files have been dropped.

Dashboard -> Plugins -> De-activate and delete Event Espresso (you will not lose any event data)

Download the latest version from your account page.

Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new -> Upload pluign

Add the .zip you just download, install and activate again.

Are you logged in as admin?

If you go to {domain.com}/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings

Can you see the maintenance page with a ‘Reset/Delete data’ tab at the top?

This direct link may work:

{domain.com}/wp-admin/admin.php?page=espresso_maintenance_settings&action=data_reset

If so click only ‘Reset Event Espresso Capabilities’, which will make sure your admin account has all of the correct capabilities assigned to it.

Can you then view EE as expected?
