Hi there,

A blank screen means a fatal error is being thrown and you server it not set to display errors.

If you look at the servers error_log files (or similar) it should show the error there, or if you enable WP_DEBUG on the site and repeat the test again it should show what error is being thrown.

Once we have the error being thrown we can investigate this further.

We enabled WP_DEBUG, tried again, yet no errors showing. Anything else you suggest we try?

Hi Troy,

Can you reply with a list of the things that were changed on your site since before yesterday when this was working? If we have a list then we can avoid a lot of guess work.

Last back end change (other than EE update yesterday) was on the 8th, way before this issue started. We did turn off A2 Optimized cache settings last night. They are still turned off.

Hey Troy we’re going to need valid FTP credentials in order to investigate further. The ones you sent earlier are invalid. You can re-send the correct information via the redeem a support token form, and please verify before sending.

Did someone or something make changes to the site’s .htaccess? (again I can’t check without valid FTP credentials). There’s a fatal error being thrown when the server tries to load the wp-admin/admin-ajax.php file. This is affecting more than just being able to add events/venues, your WordPress posts and page screens are not working either.

Just updated. Sorry, I didn’t realize we changed them.

Only change in .htaccess file is removing caching command.

The problem was the SEO Slugs plugin was calling a function that doesn’t exist on your server:

PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function split() in /wp-content/plugins/seo-slugs/seo-slugs.php:33

I’ve deactivated the SEO Slugs plugin. You should probably remove the plugin as it seems it’s no longer being updated or supported, and it’s not compatible with the version of PHP that’s on your server.

With regards to installing new caching plugins on your site, you can reach out to your host and ask them if it’s OK to remove their caching plugin and replace with an alternative. It seems they’ve set up their own caching plugin already.
