We are using Event Espresso on WP Multisite and we are using various add-ons like Roles and permission, ticketing etc. From past few weeks we are facing problems in event management. We have various administrators on our site and they all have full access to each and every plugin. Recently we created an event and we decided to provide discount and for that we created several promo codes and none of them was defined global but when we tried to assign specific promo code to specific event we were not able to.
When we checked the event and coupons we found that coupons are created by User-A because it shows the name under creator column but when we checked the event in wp-admin, there is no user associated with that event, under creator it shows “()” but we know, that event was also created by User-A. We have had many problems like this which are related to Roles and Permission so we have decided to remove the Roles and permission basic + pro add-on completely from our site and so for that we need to know:
1. What are the risks/impact of removing the add-ons?
2. Will we need to manually check tables/permissions?
3. What is the best process to do this?

Hi Cliff,
It depends on how and why you were using Roles and Permissions. Were you actually using its features, or was it installed without understanding what it’s actually used for?
If all of the people using Event Espresso in the admin have administrator capabilities, they will still have access to Event Espresso admin tools on the backend when Roles and Permissions is deactivated. If they don’t, you will need to grant them administrator access before you deactivate Roles and Permissions so they can continue to publish/edit events, manage registrations, promo codes, etc.
