I know Event Espresso doesn’t print name badges and I just want to go on record as saying of all the short-comings of the system, that’s one of the most egregious. While the management interface is clunky, and 9 out of 10 times when I reach out to support about a feature the answer I get is simply “Our system doesn’t do that”, having an event registration system that won’t print name badges is like having a hot dog stand that doesn’t sell buns. Yes, you can still get a hot dog — but it’s a featured that is so related to the primary product, it’s practically essential.
Thanks for the feedback. The ticketing add-on is capable of printing name badges, it just does not do it by default. If you look at the standard ticket add-on, there’s room there to add a name badge under the area that prints out the more info area -or- you could remove all the information (maps, address, etc) from the ticket and you’d have a nice little name badge with a qr code, a gravatar picture and a Name.
One thing that might help to keep in mind is we try to make Event Espresso as flexible as possible with the defaults, but especially in the case of the tickets, they can be customized to fit a variety of use cases.
The ticketing add-on documentation has information on how to go about creating customized ticket templates and includes a list of shortcodes you can use when you create your name badge:
