I entered the Zoom URL in the virtual location but it is getting split so when it shows up in the message to the recipient when registration is approved it is split into 2 links |
|
To further elaborate, I watched the videos and removed the https:// from the text in both places. When I do a test to see if that made a change, it sends me the admin message with the Luke Skywalker info. I try registering myself and I don’t get the email. |
Hi there, Which message template have your edited and which ‘context’ did you edit within that template? See: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/messages-system-working-with-message-contexts/ If you can add a screenshot of the page you added the Zoom link to that will help: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/troubleshooting-checklist/#screenshots |

Well, I tried it again and it looks like the link, even though split is working. https://www.waterburyregionarts.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screen-Shot-2020-06-12-at-1.12.11-PM.png Mow I just have to figure out why it comes up as forbidden. My other issue is that the Zoom link or [VIRTUAL_URL] is showing up on my event page. I’m afraid if I remove the link to the venue than it won’t show up in the message or the email. https://www.waterburyregionarts.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screen-Shot-2020-06-14-at-10.02.02-PM.png I watched all of Lorenzo’s helpful videos and in theory this should work out good but we aren’t using Personal IDs for pages, the link is going to be different everytime. I have to set up another event today and I’m afraid I’m going to have all the same issues I had setting this one up. |
That’s a screenshot of where you are adding the URL, the venue editor. I need a screenshot of the message template you are editing. However, I think you would be best changing this to a custom field on the event rather than the venue so hold off on this I’ll we’ll work through it shortly.
The virtual URL of the venue will show up on the event, that’s expected and it sounds like that field is not the one you should use. Which leads me on to:
So every event will have a different zoom link? If that is correct, you don’t want to use the virtual URL like you are now. But before I go into details on how to set this up I’d like to confirm the above as otherwise it’s just adding more confusion into the mix. So each event should have a unique zoom link that you want to include in the ‘Registration Approved’ email? |

Yes, otherwise people can get into any Zoom event we do just by having the personal ID # |

I feel like I have gotten into edit it different ways but here is what I have been doing. https://www.waterburyregionarts.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Screen-Shot-2020-06-15-at-6.47.41-PM.png |
Ok, so in that case, I don’t recommend using the Virtual URL field for the zoom link. It wasn’t designed to be private, meaning if you use that you’ll need to go through and remove it from view throughout EE. Rather than using the above, I recommend using a custom field on the Event itself and then pulling that value into the emails. I’ve recently posted up with details on how to do it so rather than retype that here is the link to that reply: https://eventespresso.com/topic/zoom-integration/#post-312824 Remove the Virtual URL value, and just use Event Meta. It means you can use a single message template for those events and the value will automatically be pulled into the emails. If you have any questions just let me know and I’ll explain further.
When click to edit a specific registrant, that is the context you will edit, so clicking ‘Edit Registrant’ will open up the registrant context for you, meaning this:
Is the same location as when you click ‘Edit Registrant’ above.
Sorry but I don’t follow this, the right email? |
