I have listed several events and seem to keep having this issue: My event date/time is on Pacific time. When setting up the event, I usually indicate that I want the registration to close about 30 minutes before the event start BUT they keep closing way before that (several hours). Is the expiry on a different time zone? Please help; I’m losing potential attendees! |

Hi there, Can you link me to an event I can view this on, please? |

If you go to http://www.noblelearning.com/event-list you will see the last class in our current series. As a recent example of this issue, the listing for a class we had on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 2:00 p.m. Pacific had already expired by 10:00 a.m. that morning. (Because this early expiration had happened before, I purposely set up this event listing to not expire until hours AFTER the event, but still that didn’t work.) I much appreciate any help you can give. Thank you! |

Hi there, your site’s timezone is set to UTC+0, but on the front end it looks like you’ve set the Datetime name to show ‘Time zone is PACIFIC (U.S.)’, however, thats not correct. Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> General In Timezone, select a city close to your locationand save. That will likely offset the sates on your event to be incorrect, edit the event and fix the date/times and save. Does that fix the problem? |

Thank you for responding. I’m in the Event Espresso back end on my site, and I don’t see the Time Zone area that you’re indicating. I go to General Settings and see four tabs across the top but nowhere on any of those tabs do I see Time Zone setting. (I’m assuming that’s the area you indicated. I don’t see specifically named Dashboard for EE.) Please advise. Thank you. |

Update: I just figured out that you were talking about my WP dashboard, not specifically about Event Espresso settings. So, I’ve reset the time zone. Hopefully that fixes the issue of events expiring too early! Thank you. |

Hi there, I know you’ve already figured this out, but just for any future readers. The Dashboard is your WP Admin home page: https://wordpress.org/support/article/dashboard-screen/ It is what you’ll see (by default) when you go to /wp-admin/ but there are plugins that take you to various different pages to the above but ‘Dashboard’ should always reference your WP Dashboard screen shown above. The admin menu on the left has a section for Event Espresso so If I’m referring to EE specific settings I use: Event Espresso -> {something} -> {something} For WP specific settings: Dashboard -> Settings -> General. Sorry for the confusion and please do let me know if the above doesn’t fix this (it likely means another plugin is changing the timezone on your site). |
