We are selling blocks of tickets to a holiday party/fundraiser to offer a discount for purchasing multiple tickets. For example, tickets are $45/each, but you can purchase 6 tickets for $240. I’m not sure how to set this up, or if it’s possible. I could create a “ticket” and set the purchase price for $240, but the purchaser would need six individual tickets, and that’s the part I’m stumped on. Is there any way EE would generate six tickets under one transaction? Or, is there another way to approach this? I know you can set up secondary registrants, but it’s unlikely the person purchasing the six tickets would know at the time of purchase who was going to be using the tickets.
You create a ticket, set the min and max qty of that ticket and then set the ticket price per ticket (in this case $40). With a min and max qty set to 6 the user would only be able to select the 6 for the discount.
Great. Thank you. One more question – does the user then receive 6 individual tickets to distribute. I’m wondering how this will work at the door of the event?
Yes, within EE each registration is always an individual ticket.
They are grouped together as part of a group registration, but still individual tickets. The primary registrant will receive a link they can see to view all tickets, if you collect the personal information question group for additional registrants they will also receive a link their individual ticket.
